How much money did Jake Locker lose this year? 10 Million? 20 million? I would not be surprised if he falls into the 2nd round like Clausen. Serious accuracy, leadership, and decision-making problems.

As for this Arizona game, I expect Stanford to win decisively. It\'s at home.

Locker, widely considered a top 10 OVERALL pick looked like a chump on the same field.

Not to take anything away from Luck, but in fairness to Locker, we don\'t know if he was truly near 100%. Even if he felt fine at the start of the game the hits he took early and often could easily have aggravated prior injuries.

Locker definitely was not 100%, but he was 100% against Nebraska.  Locker is just not that accurate.  He is a bad Vick, Tebow type.  He is getting slower and bigger, but his accuracy is not improving.  Good for him if he becomes an NFL star, but my guess is that the team that picks him will regret it 3 years later.  Still he remains the #2 or #3 QB in the draft.

I think Loukas\' play time became a victim of the big ZERO on the scoreboard.  The D probably worked so hard this week.  They likely were told that they must play better than they did against Wazzu.

The power of coaching lessons would definitely benefit from a big ole\' shutout.  And it would have been tough on that crew if a stalled offense and/or a turnover ruined the score.  

I suspect if the score was 42-14, then Loukas could have come in earlier.

The run call orientation is alarming, but only if Luck goes down with an injury.  And if Luck goes down Loukas\' arm is unlikely to save the day.

It is already clear that Nottingham will be in the running for starting in 2011, so getting Loukas time in 2010 is likely not as critical as say getting Mansion time should have been for C.a.l.

Actually the Offensive greatness is about all of the pieces.  TWU works, in part, because of the crazy good balance Stanford enjoys.  The RB by committee concept is actually working OK.  Every RB does a good job at pass blocking too.  Luck is able to pick apart blitzes, so teams do not blitz endlessly like teams did against Riley, for example.

Stanford has the best O-Line, the best TEs and the best QB in the Pac-10.  The RB talent is reasonably deep too.  Only WR lacks depth really.  So when the team is clicking they all look good.

But let\'s get serious.  Only one piece in that equation cannot be replaced in 2010.  If Luck experiences a Riley type injury the 11-1 dream is quickly replaced with "Does the team still have a chance at Big Game?"

If Luck got hurt early like Riley did at OSU, then the TWU would have been exposed by the 1 dimensional play calling we would apparently witness with Loukas.

He\'s clearly one of the best players in the NCAA but he\'s a great player (unlike Toby) who doesn\'t have great stats.  Stanford\'s balanced offense, lack of heart-stopping last second drives and heavy use of the run to keep the clock rolling late in games means that only those who are really watching know how good Luck\'s been.  

I mean, if you were on the right-coast, heard the hype and then saw a stat-line of 19-26, 192 yds, 1 TD and 1 int would YOU be impressed?  

Yet those who watched were.  

Personally, I like that this isn\'t an Elway (the player, not the coach) era team where a mediocre team is lifted by a transcendent star who everyone from the fans, to the coaches and most of all the defense lean upon.  I like that a lot  ... but this isn\'t the kind of team nor gamplan that will win a QB the Voldemort.

I wouldn\'t blame the one-dimensional play calling.  The fact that a qb, who wasn\'t known for his passing, turned safety had to be returned to qb (where we should be deeper than at safety) says something about the backup qb situation.
