I need some advice here. Our ticket group has been split into two, and we're trying to figure out which tickets might better.

Option A: Section 4, Row 1
These seats in between the 30 and 40, closer to the 30, which is great, but they're low. The first eleven rows at the Rose Bowl are lettered A through K, so we'd actually be in the 12th row. Last year we were about fifteen rows higher, and that seemed about perfect, so we're worried this might be too low. Has anyone sat in the Rose Bowl that low?

Option B: Section 28H, row 57
These are in the corner of the end zone, and pretty high up.

Any thoughts on this? I'd have to say that my inclination is to stay on the sidelines, but I'd love to hear from anyone with experience. I heard some complaints from some people last year about being too low, but I think that was from people who were literally in the front row.

Thanks for the map.  I guess it would be too logical to put the section number in the middle of the section.  Better to let people guess if their section is to the right or left of the number. 

For anyone having seating anxiety, try not to let it bother you.  I went through it last year where I was worried my seats were too low, didn't face the jumbotron, were in a section mixed with enemy fans, nowhere near the band, etc.  Well, indeed, every single one of my fears came true.... and I still had a great time.  It's 3 hours of your life, you don't need perfection.

Thanks NorCalCard for lending some perspective as I think we have the "worst" seats posted so far.  Being among "The 1600", our seats are Section 9L, Row C (which I have yet to find on the seating charts).  Nonetheless, I am hugely grateful to even "be in that number".

For reference, I'm a graduate alum with four decades of modest giving to the Stanford Fund.  Retirement plans include a relocation to the Bay Area from the Big Easy so I should get some good use of those season tickets next year and better seats for the future.

Probably so, DC.  However, it wouldn't be the first Stanford football game that I enjoyed surrounded by fans from the opposing team! 

My fondest in person Stanford football memory was late in Toby's last home game against Notre Dame when he repeatedly dragged three, four or five defenders for positive yardage while the Cardinal faithful chanted "Toby! Toby! Toby!".  Most of my neighboring fans were silent.

A little high in the corner but better to be higher, the farther you get from midfield.  Got pushed from seats pretty low but on about the 25 last year.  Season tix since 2005.  Modest annual giving. 

Hank 91:  Last year, I think we were in something like row 4.  I was worried it would be too low but we could see over all the sideline folks including the team and had no trouble following the action even though the viewpoint is from a pretty low angle.

That's exactly where I was last year, and the view is great. One dumb thing that I'm sad I'll miss out on this year is the view of the mountains behind the stadium, it was really gorgeous. (I don't think the view looking south is anywhere near as good, but I may be wrong!)
