This is actually a decent matchup for us.  Their offense is traditional and better at running the ball.  Our front seven should do pretty well.  On defense, they also have a dominant front seven so I don't think our running game will get much traction.  But Nunes has the chance to win us this game.  I can't believe I am saying that.

The key to watch against ND: their secondary. It hasn't been tested this year at all, yet observers had it as a major weakness. To my eye, they've made a fair share of mistake but haven't yet met the QB who can make them pay. Is Nunes that guy? Certainly the odds look better; that said, I don't want to get carried away by one awesome game. So we'll see. We've got a shot. Certainly got a good shot. Keep in mind that ND hasn't been able to score much on us for two straight years now.

Was Washington just first-road-game jitters or indicative or what we should routinely expect on the road? I'm inclined to think (hope?) it's the former given that Nunes' other really bad performance was SJSU on his first game as starter and he's been at least decent in subsequent home games. Hope that trend translates to road games as well.

Their offense isn't as fast as Arizona's, and our defense should be better rested and more ready to stop ND.  Also, our offensive playcalling seems to have found last year's groove...let's keep that up.  Free Stepfan Taylor!  And free Kelsey Young!
