We went to the awards banquet last night and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. There was a social hour with a no host bar, and then DeeDee welcomed us into the faculty club at 6:15. Dinner was served, and Tara kicked off the program around 7:30.
Tara does a great job of thanking everyone, giving recognition to anyone who deserves it, while still keeping things moving along. She introduces the players by class starting with the Sophomores, so that the Freshmen can get an idea about how things are supposed to work. She ends, of course, with the Seniors, who each get an opportunity to say a few words.
This officially marks the end of the season for us.Â
I feel childishly silly for including this, but I can't resist: I heard my name called while we were in the parking lot, and it was Tara! She needed help carrying some things in, so wbbfan and I got to walk into the event with Tara and Amy, looking as though we were part of the staff. I'm pretty certain I had a big goofy grin on my face.Â
