As we pushed the ball rapidly downcourt, Johnny Dawkins was desperately signalling for a timeout. Brown, ignoring him, hit a pullup three right at the arc to tie it.
The 3rd OT was the one that made me feel we were doomed to lose. I was very worried after Gage and (especially) Bright fouled out that we'd be unable to get anything going on offense, and we really didn't in the 3rd OT. And I thought Brown made a horrible shot selection by stepping back, in transition, to shoot the 3 with a man in his face. But he nailed it. I couldn't believe he made the shot, and I'm sure Dawkins was furious while the ball was in the air, but I was jumping up and down after it swished through the hoop.
Chasson really came through and, with the exception of one or two missed free throws, was very clutch in the OTs. Even after starting the game very slowly, he gutted it out and came up big, especially in the last OT. Let's remember he's only a freshman!
I was also very amused by how animated Dawkins got in the 4th OT. Even the players seemed surprised by and laughing at the coach's passionate outburst.
Great to see the team come back from a brobdingnagian deficit on the road! I don't think a team from previous years would have pulled this one out, and while the team has many flaws, it's clear that this year's team has heart and can beat anybody in this conference.
