So it's harder than ever for a mediocre (or worse) product to attract buyers?  This is exactly the situation ESPN, Fox and rest of the SEC industrial complex brazenly exploits with impunity, at the expense of our tender, traditional, autumn sensibilities. Hey, as Michael Corleone would say, "It's strictly business".
