The day-to-day fate of WSU relies heavily on the play of the LEGDER-WALKER sisters.
Tennessee:

Unfortunately, I think they are headed toward extinction in the WBB elite field; actually, it feels like they are already!
Their most recent Final Four appearance (and National Championship) was in 2008 - that was 14 seasons ago!
Since that time:
1 - UConn has been to all 12 Final Fours which resulted in 6 National Championships
2 - Notre Dame has been to 8 Final Fours which resulted in 1 National Championship and 5 National Runner-Up finishes
3 - Stanford has been to 7 Final Fours which resulted in 1 National Championship and 2 National Runner-Up finishes
3 - Baylor has been to 3 Final Fours which resulted in 2 National Championships
5 - South Carolina has been to 3 Final Fours which resulted in 1 National Championship
and FIVE (5) other PAC 12 teams (Cal in 2013, Oregon State and UW in 2015, Oregon in 2019 and Arizona in 2021)
made their first trip to the Final Four
Their most recent high-profile recruit was Jordan HORSTON in 2019, who was the #2 overall, just below #1 overall
Haley JONES of Stanford and ahead of South Carolina's Aaliyah BOSTON (#3 overall) and Zia COOKE (#4 overall).
But unlike JONES, BOSTON and COOKE who have and will continue to lead their respective teams at the top of WBB,
HORSTON's play at Tennessee has been underwhelming. I was personally monitoring her first two seasons at Tennessee,
because I really had high expectations for her after watching her capture the MVP at the U17 World Championships
in 2018.
