It is just so darn delightful. This whole messy saga. An echo chamber of billionaires so disconnected from the fans that they've gone and set themselves on fire. Heads are already rolling, as you'll need new penitent leadership to go save face with your domestic leagues and with FIFA/UEFA.
And when we say the Super League is suing the English teams who have all now expressed an intent to bow out, we're really talking about just three teams--Real Madrid, Barcelona, and Juventus--as the Super League is down to three after Atletico Madrid, AC Milan, and Inter Milan have now also jumped ship. So, 9 of the 12 are now out, but sure, you guys go ahead and sue to keep the band together. "YOU GUYS PROMISED! WE WERE GONNA BE TOGETHER FOREVER!"
Word is that UEFA offered some financial inducements to the English clubs to leave, but not to Real/Barca/Juve, who were seen as the primary antagonists here. And given that they're the only ones left, that seems like an accurate read.
I'd honestly respect the English clubs more if they came out with a statement like, "Sorry, folks. We totally misread the room on whether you all would be cool with this, and that's our bad. But, like, we were expecting to make so much money with this deal. Like stupid money. It was gonna be so rad. But we totally get it, sorry. History and all. Love history. So great. But also--man, that money."
