So...does anyone else think that Cam Newton might be suffering from the aftereffects of covid?  Brain fog, reduced endurance, volatile cardiac activity?  (Asking for my fantasy team...)

It's not entirely a flippant question.  There's one public account of an Olympic rower contracting covid and not feeling "normal" until a month later, though there's mention of teammates who didn't feel normal for two months after contracting the virus.

Cam Newton has always played with enthusiasm, energy, and swagger. Against the Niners he had none. He appeared lost, confused, and at a loss for why he wasn't performing better.  I thought maybe it is Covid-related, but have no idea.

Newton has been awful for a couple years. Shoulder injuries haven’t helped. (There was some talk last year that he might retire). The best indicator of his health is that he’s running again.  
It’s a little hard to play with swag when your bouncing passes.
Add that he’s on a new team with little to no offensive weapons around him, taking over for a legend and it’s not hard to see why he’s failing.

Perhaps we should focus on Freddie Freeman.  He had a very bad bout relatively early.  Real sick. He’s a leading candidate for NL MVP.  But of course, to do that would be positive.  And it’s important to constantly dwell on the negative.
