One of my work buddies transferred to our Sydney, Australia office in March right about when San Francisco was locking down.
He just texted me:
We will do re-entry into the office in 2 weeks but with extreme distancing rules. Don't see much point to it but it will be interesting.
Sydney is open with heavy testing, tracing, and social distancing. Cases started to go back up a bit but they notify and quarantine immediately so it's not spiking at all. Victoria is in a bigger mess but a drop in the ocean compared to the disaster in the US .
We are actually 1/4 of a block from killer bars and restaurants. We walk out and leave the kids watching TV, have a drink, and walk back home in less than 1 minute.
Things here are normal . You can't walk in without giving all your info. If somebody gets sick they contact people in the establishments immediately. Testing takes just a few hours, all free and provided by the gov. Testing sites everywhere. Info on who when where is also available to everyone all the time. This place is on it .
