She seems possibly mentally ill because she says she is a spokesperson for QAnon and claims she talks to Donald Trump every day.
But, I do think this woman’s actions are relevant to the discussions here because there is a broad concensus that masks are effective, and could be the single most effective thing people could do to really save this country. The resistance to masks seems to be unique to America, and, to me, somewhat of a mystery. I want to understand the anti-maskers better because I want America to stop being the most disastrous country in the world, I want to get the American economy going, I want college football to be able to happen this year, and I want my kids to be able to go to school and see their classmates, and from the information I have seen that has been made public, the two biggest barriers to these things happening are people not wearing masks and people having house and/or drinking parties, often indoors and without masks.
As for this woman in particular, it really makes me wonder if some people just can’t handle the stress of the pandemic and they pop, which people do in all sorts of ways, but if they blow up in a way that makes a pandemic worse, and influences other people to make the pandemic worse, I think it is a serious and relevant topic.

A credible argument can't be made that if it or something like it didn't exist, we wouldn't be facing the calamity we are now. This doesn't mean there isn't a place for what people might call conservative ideas, but making shit up from whole cloth without any effort to do real journalism and being totally unmoored by facts, leads to a culture of distrust and division. As for this woman in particular, it really makes me wonder if some people just can’t handle the stress of the pandemic and they pop, which people do in all sorts of ways, but if they blow up in a way that makes a pandemic worse, and influences other people to make the pandemic worse, I think it is a serious and relevant topic.
