Let's hope the crystal ball is right! The only other thing I'd add, which is admittedly seen through my Cardinal-colored (nerd) glasses, is that the last major basketball recruiting target of ours that I can think of, 2019 no. 1 ranked recruit Haley Jones, also had scheduled her commitment announcement in advance, and it was also fairly hyped. And maybe I'm just a terribly biased homer, but I kind of think for a recruit like Williams, committing to USC, UNC, UCLA, or Arizona would not be *that* newsworthy -- all have been good basketball schools, received commitments from top recruits, etc. Accepting admission to Stanford is just a little bit different: random folks are posting videos of their Stanford admissions discoveries, and in the era of sub-5% acceptance rates, a top 5 basketball recruit like Williams committing to a school like Stanford would be pretty newsworthy (and feel-good) in and of itself... Here's hoping we have something positive to celebrate tomorrow in a month that's brought a lot of really bad news.
