Heard from the mom of a scholarship athlete there that he's doing wonders for the school's athletics across the board. Good for them and him. Hope he builds a powerhouse worthy of competing with the SEC for athletes, especially football players.
Free Phogge!!!! And no, crimson doesn't refer to the Tide.

I wish him well. It would be a cool story of redemption if Kiffin has realized that climbing the ladder is not where success lies, and that he can find peace where he's at - teaching young men, enjoying playing football and winning a bunch of games, and getting paid well to do a job he likes in a place he likes. Maybe he's learned, and maybe he wasn't crazy for leaving Alabama.
Of course I could be wrong. But here's hoping.

This IS Lane Kiffin you're talking about, right? The You Tube clip linked above was about a washed-up, reformed alcoholic coach (Dennis Hopper) getting his moment of redemption. Are you saying Lane Kiffin can pull off the same kind of redemption just by stopping being such an immature a**hole?

Quote:FAU president Dr. John Kelly told ESPN that out-of-state applications to the university went up 35 percent for the fall 2018 semester.
And we havent done anything else differently, so it has to be Lane, Kelly said.
This sounds ... squishy to me.
As far as I can tell, FAU doesn't have early decision admissions.
Their deadline for applications is May 1 for both fall and spring semester admissions.
They do have a November 15 deadline for transfer students to start in the spring.
Kiffin was hired last December.
The team played its first game on September 1, and lost their first two games.
As of September 29, the team was 1-3.
As of the November 15 transfer students for spring deadline, the team was 7-3 with a best win over Marshall.
So, how exactly does he know that Lane Kiffin caused out of state applications to go up by 35%?

Great flick.
Think about it, on a Stanford board we're discussion Owl athletics. Think that would've happened without Lane? The mom also suggested that many of the parents of the non-football student athletes are encouraging their kids to keep some distance from some of the newer football recruits. . . .

Maybe he watced an old episode of "The Mary Tyler Moore Show"
"Lane, you know the way you always are? Just don't be that way!".

Those new members of the FAU community will find themselves disappointed when Joey Freshwater Finds Another University.
