I know Alabama football is a whole different planet run by the evil Saban, but didn't know about "blue shirting".  Is this something we've already discussed but call it by some other color of shirting?

Of course, the Alabama blueshirt is worth more than most.  It's a really high quality.  The best.  Nobody gives blueshirt better than Bama.  Everything about our blueshirts is first-class.  Our blueshirts alone could take down Michigan.

According to Rivals.com, Alabama may not have had an immediate scholarship available for Parks at the time. The school was chasing after four-star defensive end Labryan Ray, who indeed signed with the Tide.

“The numbers are tight and Alabama will only have room for him if Ray goes elsewhere,” Rivals.com Andrew Bone said. “Sometimes the spots fill up fast and there are a lot of moving parts.”

If what happened at the signing ceremony didn’t make you feel bad enough for Parks, it got even more awkward when Bleacher Report released a video of his commitment to Alabama that was filmed in Paris.

In the case of this kid Brannon, blue shirting appears to mean being a non-recruited walk-on.

The part about Saban not visiting and no official visit to Alabama keeps him out of the "recruited walk on" category, and that leaves him eligible for general financial aid without automatically qualifying as a counter should he ever see the field.
