The Niners would be foolish to draft a QB with the #2 pick who has limited starts and hasn't let his team to a championship or at least Top 10 level.  They should take the best player available - and that shouldn't be a QB who is ranked that high simply because of QB value inflation (see Goff, Jared).  Or better yet, when your roster is the worst in the NFL, you need as many picks as possible, so trade down for more picks.

I hope for Luck's sake that the Colts don't draft Fournette.  The solution to a terrible Oline isn't a good running back (which they already have in Frank Gore), it's a better O-line

I think Trubisky would be a mistake, based upon the Sun Bowl.  A big mistake.  I think the Niners will trade down, or trade the pick for a player.

As for CMac...not really surprised that he isn't projected in the first round.  Solly had a wonderful Sun Bowl...which is what you want to do going into the draft, have a big, big Bowl game to prove your worth.  Or, you could just signal your confidence by staying home from the bowl game.

I think Trubisky would be a mistake, based upon the Sun Bowl.  A big mistake.  I think the Niners will trade down, or trade the pick for a player.

If the next GM isn't an idiot he'll figure out that QB pressure is #1 and will draft the A&M DE/OLB or Allen/Foster from Bama. They have a promising all around DLman in Buckner, a disappointing guy (so far) in Armistead and a bunch of journeymen at NT. Sign or draft a caretaker QB until you can draft a good one in '18.

This is a multi year fix but they need to give the fans some hope.

Agree that Trubisky would be a mistake.  He did nothing for the first two-thirds of the Sun Bowl and his decisionmaking was pretty bad.

CMac is not a first rounder.  He's just not big enough and I'm sure he will play with a chip on his shoulder as a result.

The Niners should either trade down, or get a brobdingnagian pass rush stud.  Their decline really began when the D was decimated due to retirements and injuries.

It's so hard to root for the Niners simply because of the Yorks.
