It's really hard to be at the bottom of an NCAA FBS stat category. You've got programs like Idaho and New Mexico State to contend with for ignominy, but your California Golden Bears have made a strong push, or should I say retreat, to claim the #128 spot in Yards Per Carry Allowed.  After two games, Sonny's Sieves are yielding a whopping 6.85 YPC, after giving up 7.1 to San Diego State while most of us were sleeping.

Cal is making a real effort to maintain its lead, as it is a full .6 YPC worse than the next closest competitor, Syracuse.  Texas is only averaging 3.6 YPC, which is actually (sadly) better than Stanford after one game, so there is hope for the Bears to move up in the rankings this week. Then again, Hawaii did average 6.5 YPC against Cal and only 4.7 vs. Tenn-Martin...
