This is cool. I hope that each player commits to this covenant. However, I would have suggested the "T" stand for tenacity rather than trained. Tenacity would be more consistent with focus, intensity, grit, and hunger.
Put a glide in your stride and a dip in your hip.

Good suggestion. "Trained" seemed a bit "strained" to me too. Here we go! 8)

Yeah, the lack of parallelism bothers me. A lot.
Please clear the field! The game is not over!

How'd we do?
Win the turnover battle? Check, 2-1; would have been 3-1 but for a safety that occurred a fraction of a second before Ertz threw it.
Win the red zone battle? D'oh. We had zero red zone possessions (our TD's were a 40 yard pass to Rector, a 35 yard run by McCaffrey, and a 41 yard run by McCaffrey), and Ukropina's field goal was a 50 yarder, that started on the 33); they converted 3/3, a pair of 30 yard field goals from the 13, and a TD from the 15.
Win the third down battle? Check, we were 6/12 for a 50% conversion rate, KState was 8/18 fpr a 44%.
2/3 ain't bad. I give the defense some credit for holding KState to two field goals, including one on a drive that started in the red zone because of the penalty return. 13 points in 3 trips (4.3 points per red zone possession) is acceptable. Last year we gave up 207 points in 47 attempts for 4.4 points per red zone possession.

The team has mixed results on their goals. They won the turnover battle 2-1, but didn't force anyn fumbles. The offense had maybe one play in the red zone, which showed an inability to sustain drives. The defense held KSU to one TD in three red zone trips, but never prevented a score once inside. For third down, Stanford converted a better rate, 50% vs 44%, but KSU converted more 8 vs 6, without even counting 2/4 4th downs.
Both O and D have work to do for their side of the covenant...

Thanks, been lurking a while, but a new season inspires me off the virtual sidelines.

Trained reminds me of Turley-trained. I'm ok with it. But to be honest, I HATE acronyms with a passion. Give me the concept and a keyword...don't have time for the mental chaff.

If there's one thing people have learned in Berkeley, it's that you can't put "Cal football" and "Rose Bowl" in the same sentence. The words just don't fit. You'd be better off linking "covered wagons" with "Mars travel." (Bruce Jenkins, Cal '70, SF Chronicle, Nov. 11, 2017)
