From the season-opening email from Stanford Football:

The Kansas Jayhawks visited in 1967 for Stanfords home opener, a nail-biting 21-20 victory by the Indians. Captain Jack Root rushed for all three touchdowns. Legendary Cardinal baseball coach Mark Marquess was Stanfords quarterback.
I believe Pepper Rodgers was the Kansas coach at that time. They were a lot better back then...going to the Orange Bowl in '68, I think, behind Bobby Douglass.[/color][/size]
