Has morale ever been this high at a football program that just went 8-5?
Two coaches turned down monster financial offers so they could stay at Stanford.
Three fifth-year seniors who likely would have been selected at some point in the NFL draft decided to return for one more year.
Twenty-some recruits are on campus, the weather is cooperating, and there is a decent chance that Stanford will sweep them all.

As a matter of fact it has. Try 15 years ago, when we were coming off a Rose Bowl appearance with an 8-5 record. Despite the loss, people were ready to put T.W. in the Stanford coaching hall of fame.

At this point in 2000, hadn't TW already left for the University of (Future) Fake Dead Girlfriends?
