The suggestion that Shaw dumped Farrar for football reasons is ludicrous. Stanford is in dire need of high-caliber athletes who are academically qualified. As noted elsewhere, Stanford is unlikely to fill its 85 scholarship slots next year. Depending on who chooses to return and who is invited for a fifth year, Shaw may have just 3 scholarship DBs (including a converted QB) from the classes of '11, '12, and '13 left on the roster. Compare that to Alabama, for example, which has 3 CB commits and 4 safety commits in this class. If a 2-star safety decommitted, I would still say it is highly unlikely that Shaw dumped him for football reasons. Make it a consensus 4-star safety who has been instrumental in recruiting other kids for this class, and I say you are paranoid.
