I know a lot of Guardsmen who went to Cal and none that went to Stanford. I think that is a big factor for why this event skewed Cal to the point that it didn't make David Shaw's priority list for the week. If enough important Stanford alums and supporters attended this event, I think Shaw would have found a way to make it, but why should he spend his time entertaining a crowd of mostly Cal alums.
