I live in Fife, roughly equidistant (by car) from Edinburgh and St. Andrews. I play most of my golf either in low handicap amateur senior events throughout Britain or with my wife. Just got back from a 2-day competition in Wales. My local course has great views across the Firth of Forth but is otherwise only just above average, and I use it more for drinking and contemplating than playing. I visit my other course (Dornoch) 2-5 times a year. I've played probably 30 of the "top 50" courses in the world and Dornoch is the best golfing experience of the lot, IMHO of course. Vis a vis your contemplated trip to Scotland next year, I'd be happy to help. Feel free to ping me on this site, if and when your plans begin to congeal.
