This feels like a Kirk Tucker eulogy...

It kind of is.  Only Stanford recruits, and by extension, fans, have to face this dynamic.  Sure there are schools with low standards who have recruits denied by the NCAA clearinghouse, but when that happens, it's pretty easy to accept because you know the kid isn't going to play for any other major college program either.

Other schools have recruits de-commit and go somewhere else because they just felt more comfortable somewhere else or whatever.  But no other fan base in the country knows what it is like to have a recruit de-commit who doesn't want to, because he can't qualify for school, even with a 3.0+ GPA, and taking at least two AP classes he doesn't need to go to any other school.  Frankly, it sucks.

I wish there was some "second chance" for kids like Kirk Tucker, to prove themselves after being denied admission.  So many people are told they can't do things and ultimately prove they absolutely can, especially those in competitive sports.
