I have already posted my critique of our approach in the "give credit where it is due" thread so I won't rehash that.
What I want to know is: if Shaw/staff correctly responded to what they perceive Hogan's limitations to be to the extent that the staff's determination was reasonable that our best chance to win was to never deviate from our run-first, power game despite the ample and growing evidence it would not work as the 2nd half progressed, what does that say going forward? I am not making a statement here as to whether Hogan actually has limitations. But it looked to me that our staff does not trust Hogan to pass, and especially not in anything other than an obvious throwing down or situation (and sometimes not even then). If that judgment is reasonable, the logical response would be to have a truly open QB competition in the spring. Recalling the painful progression from Nunes to Hogan, I do not expect that to happen. Will it? Should it?Â
