Odd to include other hits in the summary. How many times was Goff hit in Big Game? In all 2013 games? And in practice? If we are going to imply that the last hit was not the only one that counts, then we probably should tally them all up. From my understanding of Goff he was viewed as a near superhero in UCB circles for his ability to absorb all kinds of punishment during the season.
Though in Crump's defense I would guess that line of thinking was told to him by the UCB staff.
Goff was not quite steady after Skov's first hit. That led him to fall awkwardly when he was hit the second time. etc.
Though I think you'd have to be careful with that line of thinking since it might implies that Goff should not have been in the game to suffer the injury inducing hit if he was not 100% after a double blow to the head (Skov and OL) on a play earlier in the game. Maybe the implication was that Goff was that Goff hurt his shoulder on hit #1. And THAT is an informative take. As Crump noted, Skov targeted the SHOULDER. If that was the target, then no penalty needed to be called even if that hit did injure the shoulder. Thanks Crump!
