Hoped to detour through Waterbury on the way back to get some of this nearly impossible to find, supposedly greatest beer in the world (Alchemist's Heady Topper).  Sadly they sold out for the week the day before yesterday!  Vermonters I guess stocked up early to prevent us Bostonians from pillaging through the inventory on a holiday weekend.

I love Saisons!  My favorite being Brooklyn Brewery's Sorachi Ace.  I'm a sucker for anything East meets West.

Heady Topper is really good, but it's not like it's 10X better than anything else you can find. And I'm not surprised they were sold out, I've heard that it goes really fast, especially around holidays. But I think they do sometimes distribute to Boston, so if you really try you can probably find some without the trip to Vermont.

And I love New Zealand hops (though Sorachi is Japanese, I think). They have citrus flavors that are really something else. A local brewery is releasing a pair of IPAs tomorrow, one with American hops and the other with New Zealand hops, I'm hoping I'll be able to score kegs of both and be in a hop coma for the next few weeks.

Anyway, I'll stop talking about beer now.
