I think Nancy has the timing right. I went to a Big Game in Berkeley in the Kapp era. The whole environment was ugly. I was surprised because it had not been that way before. Things got worse from there. In 92, I was listening to the Kal radio broadcast of the Big Game because it was the only signal I could get. The Kal fans rushed the field after losing. Some of them assaulted Stanford fans. Their own radio announcers were aghast at the ugly behavior of the Kal fans.
