I spent a year at Georgia Tech before transferring to Stanford.  During that year Tech played ND in Atlanta.  Quite a few students (who sat right behind the visiting team bench) threw small dead fish at the ND players, after a few minutes none of the ND players took their helmets off when they were on the sideline  :)
