Was just about to post the same. Stunning, but considering it's $C, not really. . . .
"He went head first." "But he's lying feet first." "They spun him around." You can't make that up. . . .
Very unfortunately IMO there are other, more ostensibly "objective" journalists out there that are making arguments that the hit wasn't dirty.
Quote: When you watch the play in slow motion — an advantage neither Moore nor Stephens had — it seems like Stephens dives at roughly the same time that Moore begins to slide.First, the definition of "roughly" must be more than a second, because in the replay slow motion it is quite clear Moore had already started his slide when Stephens started to dive. One obvious rebuttal to the "simultaneous" argument is that if Moore hadn't started to slide, why would Stevens go low and dive at him? A conventional tackle would seem to be more in order, unless you were going for the knees. Stevens could have really blown Moore up if Moore didn't slide. Both players undoubtedly knew that and that is why Moore elected to slide. It is not as if Moore was going to run away from Stephens and a desperation dive was necessary. Stevens going low was clearly in direct response to Moore starting to slide. Stevens intended to deliver a serious blow no matter what, rules and common decency be damned.
