OutsiderFan may need to upgrade the quality of their friends. I've worked with several non-athlete U.S.C. graduates that I found intelectually unimpressive. ;)
The fact that a U.S.C. alum finds a Stanford athlete intellectually unimpressive just shows that the standards are so high the U.S.C. alum can't keep up. The person probably says the same thing about other Stanford graduates when they are not around.
