Question for Goose (or anyone who would know).  I saw this on Twitter (so this is also a bit of a fact check):

Before today, no F-15 had been shot down in more than 35 years — since January 19, 1991, during the Persian Gulf War.
Before today, the U.S. had never had more than one aircraft shot down by friendly fire in a single day, let alone three.
The number of fixed-wing aircraft lost in friendly fire incidents today equals the number lost during the entire 20-year span of conflicts in Iraq and Afghanistan since 9/11.

So, what gives?  Did the Kuwaitis panic?  Do they not have the compatible IFF and assume they were Iranian jets?  Did we just not coordinate well with them?  Whatever else you might think of the conflict (and I definitely have thoughts that are not appropriate for this forum) the execution otherwise looks great.  But that is a little bit like fumbling the ball on the 1 yard line after breaking off a gorgeous play from scrimmage.
