As you may have heard, the SoftBank Hawks (owned by Masayoshi Son, the Bill Gates of Japan?) selected Rintaro Sasaki with their #1 pick in the NPB draft last month. Yesterday, their Chief Baseball Officer (and former Daiei Hawk, Seattle Mariner, and Hanshin Tiger) Kenji Jojima visited him for a courtesy call.
No negotiations can take place until the Stanford season is completed, and likely, nothing will happen until the MLB draft in July. JFYI.
