A few months ago as I was leaving Maples some tourists stopped me by the pool and asked me where the indoor swimming pool for competitions was located. 

I told them that I didn't know of an indoor swimming pool and that the competitions were held at the pool next to us. They said they wanted to come see some competitions next season and asked where do the spectators sit to watch the races. Frankly, I have never been to a swimming meet and didn't know how to answer them. 

Where do spectators sit to watch swimming meets?

In the bleacher seats on the north end (toward the track) of Avery - M & W swim meets (+ MWP & WWP matches & Synchro meets) take place in the short course pool below those seats, not in the 2 long course pools on the south end (closest to FB's practive field).  Diving comp takes place in the 4th pool in the east part of the complex, closest to the football stadium.
