How much do you want to bet that the pro-Western movement in Belarus caved in because Russian resources were funneled into propping up Lukashenko?  Russia wants that ring of buffer states again, and Ukraine was supposed to have gone the way of Belarus...except it didn't.

Absolutely, and in Syria, the regime collapsed when Hezbollah fighters were occupied fighting Israel and Iran and Russia didn’t prop up the Assad regime.
