That it's being held on US soil, and without the involvement of Ukraine, is unusual and I don't think portends well for Ukraine.
I recently visited Sitka, Alaska to go fishing and while there took a tour of the former Russian Orthodox Bishop's residence. There is also an onion domed church in the middle of town. Interesting place to visit. Putin would love the optics, though I don't think the accomodations in town are up to snuff for a presidential summit.
