Few said Duke Snider. But that’s who hit the most HRs

I think Mays would have hit more than Snider had he not been in the military for most of 1952 and all of 1953.

Mays played just over eight years of the 10, Mantle played nine, Duke played ten. During that time, Mantle had a 173 OPS+, Mays had a 158 OPS+ and Snyder had a 147 OPS+
Or if Snider had played in the Polo Grounds. Snider was a lefty. The right field foul pole in Ebbetts Field was just 297 feet, 344 to right center:

Mick -- Why 2 measurements for right and right-center for Yankee Stadium?  I remember it was notorious for the "short porch" in right....

I think I left in Polo Grounds measurements at the bottom...good catch. These measurements are straight from Wikipedia, so you know it's right...

According to Wikipedia, the outfield measurements were exactly the same at the old and new stadium, though the backstop is about 20 feet closer. I've been to the new stadium a few times, it has a similar feel in the seats and on the concourses to the new Detroit stadium (never been to either of the old stadiums).
