Here's a Yankees-Red Sox trivia question...before the 1947 season, the owner of the Red Sox (Tom Yawkey) and the owner of the Yankees (Dan Topping) discussed trading Joe DiMaggio for Ted Williams, straight up.
Both players were emblematic of their teams. DiMaggio actually hit about .100 OPS better at Fenway than he did at Yankee Stadium, he could have played in the OF with his brother Dom.
