Regarding the Friday Night Fights, I was trying to figure out the motive for what transpired.
Perhaps the US administration figured out that the minerals would be too expensive & risky to pursue, but they already had the Ukrainian President coming to the White House to sign the deal. Perhaps this is the current President's way to save face rather than to say "Oops, after reflecting for (2 weeks?) about this deal, we found out the finances aren't in our favor"
If someone has a more rational explanation for what transpired, I'd like to hear it.
