Great guess. It was Phil Niekro, Yankees, last day of 1985 season against the 99-62 Toronto Blue Jays. He was 46. Best part, he didn't throw any knuckleballs...all change ups, sliders and curveballs.

It was a pretty good guess.  I looked it up and Paige also threw a shutout at age 46 - but 46 years, 1 month vs. 46 years, 5 months for Niekro.
