I always wonder about the US Navy when I see reports of mass attacks by cheap(ish) drones against high value targets. Will there come a time when the US carrier based fleets are on the wrong side of that equation?
The new Ford class aircraft carrier costs an estimated $13 billion to build and outfit. Very well protected and with power projection that's unparalleled and unique to the US but ... the nations thought the same of the Battleship into the 1930s. Is the drone problem something that will (eventually) turn the page on the modern behemoth aircraft carrier?
($13B=13,000 ea $1,000,000 drones)
In 1938 Neville Chamberlain declared "Peace in our time", Superman first appeared in Action Comics, Seabiscuit beat War Admiral ....... and C.a.l last won the Rose Bowl.
