In so far as this is accurate, it is "important". Producing new railway ferries isn't all that easy, although it is clearly possible. Forcing Russia to use just the bridge for everything clearly makes the Russians very nervous. Kiev has also done major damage (supposedly) to the railway across the land bridge. There is a pattern here. Ukraine clearly wants to create a situation where Crimea is isolated and "at risk". It is unclear to me how Ukraine expects to "back this up" with a ground offensive. If they can, that is great. If they can't, not sure what the point of this is. OTOH, if you don't have a plan you can't execute it.
