I hate to say it but Klay leaving at this point is addition by subtraction. We will miss his scoring, but the constant sulking, drama, horrid shot selection, and overly long leash that came from his relationship with Kerr (along with Wiggins and Dray) sunk the first half of last season. 

I'll forever be grateful for his role in 4 titles. I wish him the best. I hope being free of the weight of expectation from his past in golden state allows him to be the off the bench flamethrower he is best suited to be at this point. 

Completely agree. Incidentally, Bleacher Report lists the Mavs' KT deal as one of the five biggest FA overpays. He has no mobility left, can't play defense any more, and was never a guy to get rebounds or make the hard shot at the rim. Injuries and age have restricted him largely to perimeter shooting. And the Warriors got two second-round picks out of it, both next year.

The Warriors will fete him appropriately, retire his number, put his jersey in the rafters, etc.

I thoroughly agree that Klay is now a major liability on D. Moreover, he's never been a rebounder or a good passer. He feels aggrieved if not angry that the Warriors 'only' offered him $48 million for 2 years after what he's done for the team. But he is no longer able to take any double-team pressure off of Steph and his D is matador-like.
