All the grain shipments hug the Ukrainian coast until they reach Romanian territorial waters. From there to Bulgarian to Turkish territorial waters. It is a very short distance in Ukrainian waters and Russia has no viable way to mine it. Too shallow for submarines and too close to Ukrainian defenses for surface craft. Russia isn't going to mine NATO waters. That is an act of war that can't be ignored. It is a "slow" route, but it is safe. FWIW some small quantity of grain actually comes down the canal of the Danube and is not even shipped from Ukrainian ports.
