I am sure we all remember the conjectures about when Russia was going to run out of 152 mm ammunition. While Russia did (and still does) have some "challenges" that has resulted in them using obsolete North Korean ammunition, it is quite clear Russia isn't running out of ammunition in this war, now or ever. Unfortunately the west, particularly the EU, has not increased production to meet the need. The sense of urgency is, once again, distinctly lacking. Despite all their big talk, Rheinmetall hasn't come through with equally big production. They undoubtedly blame the slow pace of contracting by the German government, and they have a point. That said, Rheinmetall is planning to open facilities that will take a year or more to come online. Ukraine very will may not be around to use the shells at that point.
