- The rookies (Miller, Roupp, Avila, Teng) in the bullpen are performing very poorly. The vets (Rogers twins, Walker, Hjelle) doing well. On the fence about Doval.
- For the above reason, the Giants acquired Mitch White, ex-Bellarmine & Santa Clara pitcher. Also ex-Dodger from Farhan's time there. Had a good ERA with the Dodgers, not so good with the Blue Jays. Here's hoping.
- Nice win the other day, 5-2. Giants have won 4 of 6.
- Giants attendance is 11th in MLB at 31k per game.
- Despite all the free agent spending, Giants payroll is "only" 9th in MLB.
Actually think Miller‘s been pitching pretty well. A little inconsistent. But prior to his last outing, he pitched five consecutive scoreless games in which he’d given up no hits and struck out nine over five innings. He has great stuff if he can just have decent command, he’s gonna be a nice addition.
Agreed. 7 strikeouts, no walks in his last five appearances (five innings) and he's only given up two hits and one line drive in 17 batters. He's about to be my favorite Stanford alum Giant. Little bit concerned about Slater. Not too concerned about Tristan Beck, I think he'll come back strong.
Roupp has pitched well enuf also. Teng already sent down. Avila allows too many on base. He has good minor league record, but doesn't have a consistent out pitch in the bigs. Plus, he's pitching on the corners and is too often in ball three territory.
Roupp was sent down today. Webb pitched great, has pitched 19 consecutive scoreless innings, 3-1 on the season. Giants won 5-1. Yaz, Conforto, Estrada all have two hits, only 7 strikeouts total (alarmingly, Soler had three of them). Doval was credited with a save...I thought saves were only in three-run-lead-or-less situations. Giants are 12-13, just two back of the Dodgers.
