Indeed they are. I THINK it might also send a message to the GOP "problem children" that the D's will deliver enough votes to defeat a "privileged" motion to immediately remove the speaker. This may dissuade them from employing that tactic to stop progress on these bills. Ukraine obviously hopes so.

And finally, a nice video of a Russian bomber spinning to the ground. Over 500km from the front, after launching long range missiles at Ukraine. Unclear what happened to make it go down- Russian AD mistake? Ukraine special forces attack well behind enemy lines? Engine trouble?

Always great to see Russian attrition. My guess, lacking any other data at all, is that it was a "loss due to operations". The Backfire has always been overly complex and hard to maintain. The airframes are also quite old, so the idea that something just broke isn't hard to believe.
