I thought Small looked really good. I watched him pitch for an inning, he was missing bats by a comical amount. But, as you say, spring numbers don't mean much.

I saw an article by Baggs in which the coaches and catchers were asked which pitchers were really impressing them. Everyone raved about Landen Roupp. He's only pitched one inning in one game so far (2 K's, no hits or walks, three up, three down; threw seven pitches all for strikes, didn't throw a single ball outside the strike zone). 12th round pick in 2021. When Patrick Bailey was asked, Baggs didn't even get the question out of his mouth before Bailey replied "Landon Roupp." 1.74 ERA in AA last year. Bailey, Sabol, Murphy and Bart all mentioned Roupp.

BTW, Giants have won 5 of their last 7. Not that spring training numbers matter.

Where did you get your Joey Bart spring training numbers? I think you're including his minor league spring training camp numbers, because in MLB spring training, he was nowhere close to those numbers. Bart hit .214 in 2023 spring training and .225 in 2022 spring training and .233 in 2020. He hit .333 in 2021, but that was just six ABs. This year, he's hitting .474, 1.016 OPS. Bailey's hitting .200 and Murphy's hitting .278.

I'm worried, a little, about the Stanford players. Beck is hurt, Miller is doing pretty well...3.00 ERA, 1.33 WHIP. Slater has 7 plate appearances, two walks and has struck out all five At Bats.
