Now that he is a free agent, I think he will find a new home quickly.
Update: This may not be the end of the Davis saga. It is possible that he could file a grievance for being wrongfully released (the CBA prohibits players from being released after an arbitration hearing unless they fail “to exhibit sufficient skill or competitive ability”).
The Athletic says "Industry sources indicated that it was unlikely that Davis, who is now an unrestricted free agent, would have grounds to file a grievance." Not a good look for Zaidi, coupled with his treatment of Crawford and, yes, Kapler at the end of last year. Not exactly yanking your wife to the ground in public, but still...Giants management doesn't look good.

Also of interest...Giants win today, 12-8 over Royals. Joey B., headed to AAA, had three hits and is hitting .474/.542/.474/1.026. Gone. Casey Schmitt had a home run. Back to AAA (he's only hitting .133). Pinder, .364, gone. Brooks, .467, won't make the team. Meckler, .440/.481/.600/1.081. We'll see, but doubt it.
Don’t pay much attention to spring numbers. Although I am looking to see what Luciano and Fitzgerald do. Fitz has a shot for last roster spot. Luciano needs to step it up now. At least have some good AB’s. The strikeouts are mounting.
Pitching is most interesting.
Webb, Harrison. Hicks. Pen - Taylor, Tyler. Walker, Jackson and Doval are locks, barring injuries.
Black, is, I think essentially a lock for the 4 or 5 slot in the rotation. Winn would be, but he may not be ready.
That leaves 4 (3 if Winn is ready) open spots. One will be a lefty. I think Small is likely. (Miller being in first cuts was surprising). Maybe Amir Garrett. If Winn can’t go I expect both Dalton Jeffries and Spencer Howard to go north. Especially Jeffries.
Lot of competition.
361/.434/.617/1.051. 9 HRs. In 151 PA’s. Those are Bart’s career ST numbers. If only it mattered to be Mr. March.. Absent injury, he will be traded. They should be able to get at least a low level minor leaguer. Catchers are scarce and his contract is low. One downside- he has no options. If they can’t trade him, I expect someone will pick him up on waivers. But maybe he clears and can add depth at AAA.
