Jump is under appreciated on the defensive end.

She may very well be under appreciated, but I don't see her being Pac12 1st team all defensive. Who does she displace? Not Brink, not Sherrod, not Osborne. Pueyo? 

Pueyo leads the conference in steals and is 7th on the all-time list, so Jump does not displace Pueyo. Betts?

OK, Betts but that's MY cardinal-colored glasses talking about being sore about her departure.

I also don't recall any commentator referring to Jump as a shut-down defender. I think HM is the right call.
