Same. It's definitely their achilles heel. If we thought Jump didn't get enuf shots up last year because of aggressive guarding, this year she is pretty much stuck. Even when there is a quick opening, she seems to hesitate more often and then doesn't let it fly. She's definitely extended her game with  left hand layups, e.g. but her 3 pointer is a 100% necessity against better teams. Bosgana is inconsistent, in effort, correct defensive position, and shooting. If she has a good game, we win, if not, maybe not. Harriel's effort and threes are a great addition this year, but she is not yet as physically strong as others, and needs to eliminate the high school layups. Ogden looks like a player, but has been unavailable, and I assume that means for practice also. She may be a big part of the answer, but we dunno yet. Clardy is impressive on d, but turnovers at the pg position are clearly a problem. Utah, and especially Colo, guarded Lepolo more closely than other teams have which slowed down her 3 pt shot. She doesn't have a jumper out there. It's a set shot and she's not 6'2". So, what to do. Seems like the answer lies in setting more screens for Jump (where is the elevator door screen, e.g.), Jump letting the ball fly, good health for Ogden, and Lepolo to keep practicing and letting it fly.

Except when Kiana was here and the Orrange/Thompson couple years, even when we were FF-worthy national contenders, our (relative) weakness has always been our guards, especially speedy, versatile guards who can both drive and shoot the three with reliability. While she did have a lot of help alongside her, having Kiana be able to create something on her own while the clock was winding down was a nice insurance measure during our championship run.

While our current guards are solid, they are not there offensively, it's usually been a work in progress. It would have been nice to have gotten a college-ready guard that we missed out on (Miles, Citron, Hidalgo, Rice, Watkins). Having any one of them would have given us a consistent offensive threat from the 1 or 2 that would have complemented Brink and Kiki inside.
